Black and Brown Americans account for less than 20% of all study abroad participants. We aim to increase these numbers with our annual Passports & Pastries experience and Gift The World passport initiative.
Hei! We are preparing for our second annual Passports & Pastries event. This two-day hybrid block party and passport initiative is scheduled for February 26-27, 2022, celebrating National Study Abroad Day.
Last year's virtual event was an astounding success, with over 80 participants from five countries worldwide. We raised over $2,000 for our #GiftTheWorld grant. Our grant awardees attend both HBCU's and PWI's and study various fields, including culinary arts, political science, and journalism. In addition to unique panels, mental health workshops, live entertainment, and Black business vendors, we were able to gift ten Black and Brown scholars the opportunity to receive their first passport.
